Rainforest Gateway Campground

Thank you for choosing Rainforest Gateway Campground. These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings, stays, events, and use of our facilities.

By making a booking or staying at Rainforest Gateway Campground, guests agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking Confirmation

All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Rainforest Gateway Campground.

A booking is considered confirmed once:

  • availability has been approved; and/or
  • any required deposit or payment has been received.

Guests must provide accurate booking information, including:

  • guest numbers
  • vehicle, caravan, or camping details
  • accommodation requirements
  • arrival and departure dates

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring all guests are aware of these Terms & Conditions.

2. Payment Terms

Payment requirements may vary depending on the type of booking, accommodation, or event.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Full payment may be required prior to arrival.
  • Outstanding balances must be paid before check-in.
  • Additional charges incurred during your stay must be settled before departure.

Failure to make required payments may result in cancellation of the booking.

3. Cancellation Policy

We understand plans can change. Our cancellation terms are:

Standard bookings:

  • Cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival may receive a refund less any applicable administration fees.
  • Cancellations within 7 days of arrival may forfeit deposits or payments made.
  • No-shows or early departures may not be eligible for refunds.

Different cancellation terms may apply to group bookings, events or during peak periods.

Guests are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible if their plans change.

4. Arrival and Departure

Check-in time: 2pm

Check-out time: 10am for cabin guests, 11am for campers

Guests must check in and depart within the designated times unless prior arrangements have been made.

Late departures may incur additional charges where they affect other bookings or campground operations.

5. Campground Rules and Guest Behaviour

Rainforest Gateway Campgrounds is a place for guests to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings.

Guests agree to:

  • Respect other guests and campground neighbours
  • Keep noise to a reasonable level
  • Observe quiet hours between 10pm and 7am
  • Follow all campground signage and instructions
  • Keep their site clean and tidy
  • Take their rubbish with them for disposal (cabin guests may leave their rubbish in the cabins)
  • Respect the environment and surrounding rainforest areas
  • DO NOT pollute the creek in any way

Aggressive behaviour, excessive noise, illegal activity, or disruption to other guests will not be tolerated. Management reserves the right to require guests to leave if their behaviour negatively affects the safety or enjoyment of others. No refunds will be given in these instances.

6. Campfires and Fire Safety

Campfires are only permitted where approved and in designated areas.

Guests must:

  • Follow all fire restrictions and local regulations
  • Firewood is not to be brought into NSW from Queensland due to fire ant restrictions
  • Never leave fires unattended and fully extinguish fires before leaving
  • Use only approved fire areas

During periods of high fire danger, campfires may be prohibited.

Guests are responsible for complying with all fire safety requirements.

7. Pets

Pets are welcome only where specifically permitted and must be approved prior to arrival.

Guests travelling with pets must:

  • Keep pets controlled at all times
  • Prevent excessive barking or disturbance
  • Clean up after pets
  • Ensure pets do not enter restricted areas (camp kitchen, cabins and amenities)

Pets must not create a nuisance or safety concern for other guests. Management reserves the right to refuse or remove pets that are unsuitable.

8. Caravan, Camping and Site Requirements

Guests are responsible for ensuring their vehicle, caravan, camper trailer, or camping equipment is suitable for the booked site.

Guests must:

  • Provide accurate equipment details at the time of booking
  • Follow site instructions
  • Avoid damage to grounds, trees, infrastructure, or facilities

Rainforest Gateway Campground accepts no responsibility for incorrect information supplied during booking.

9. Events and Group Bookings

Events, functions, and group bookings require prior approval.

Event organisers are responsible for:

  • guest behaviour
  • noise management
  • cleaning requirements and rubbish disposal
  • compliance with campground rules
  • any damage caused during the event

Additional terms, deposits, or agreements may apply for events and private functions.

10. Damage and Loss

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to campground facilities, accommodation, equipment, or property during their stay.

Guests may be charged for:

  • repairs
  • replacement costs
  • excessive cleaning
  • damage caused by negligence or misuse

Rainforest Gateway Campground accepts no responsibility for personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged during a guest’s stay.

11. Weather and Natural Events

Rainforest Gateway Campground is located in a natural environment where weather conditions may change.

We do not provide refunds, but may be able to reschedule your booking, due to:

  • rain
  • storms
  • natural conditions
  • wildlife
  • personal changes of plans

Where extreme weather or safety concerns occur, management may make decisions regarding access, closures, or cancellations.

12. Safety and Liability

Guests stay at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety and the safety of accompanying persons.

Guests should take appropriate care around:

  • uneven terrain
  • trees
  • waterways
  • wildlife
  • fire areas
  • vehicles and camping equipment

Rainforest Gateway Campground is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage except where required by Australian law.

13. Right to Refuse Service

Management reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or terminate a booking where:

  • these Terms & Conditions are breached
  • safety concerns exist
  • behaviour impacts other guests
  • false information has been provided
  • payment obligations are not met

No refunds will be provided where a guest is required to leave due to a breach of these conditions.

14. Privacy

Guest information is collected and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
